SafeSchools Online Staff Training

At WISD, the safety of our staff and students is of utmost importance and this is re-emphasized at the start of each school year. Every September (or at time of hire if after September), each staff member is required to complete training modules through SafeSchools an online training system. We're confident these courses are informative and helpful in maintaining a safe learning environment.

Modules required by all staff:

  • Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Prevention (22 minutes)
  • Child Abuse: Mandatory Reporting (31 minutes)
  • Cybersecurity Overview (13 minutes)
  • Diversity Awareness: Staff-to-Staff (23 minutes)
  • FERPA: Confidentiality of Records (14 minutes)
  • Seclusion and Restraint: Awareness Training (33 minutes)
  • Sensitivity Awareness (32 minutes)
  • Sexual Harassment: Staff-to-Staff (27 minutes)
  • Title IX Compliance Overview (43 minutes)

Modules required only by maintenance and facilities staff:

  • Hazard Communication: Right to Understand (GHS) (26  minutes)
  • Material Safety Data Sheets (20 minutes)

Staff can access the training site by clicking on the Staff link in the header of WISD's web pages and then clicking SafeSchools from the list of icons  or by clicking on the link below.
