Electronic IEP - PowerSchool Special Programs

PSSP is the software package Washtenaw County School Districts are using to manage and monitor a child’s entire special education process. This software helps the child’s team make sure the plan in place is in compliance with state and federal regulations.

PSSP stands for PowerSchool Special Programs, and assists the student's teachers, mentors, and parents by helping to insure technology and innovation in their education.  Teachers and Consultants use PSSP to create an electronic record of the student's IEP (Individualized Education Plan). Some teachers type directly into PSSP during the meeting to save time. The software has automatic reminders that appear to make sure that important steps and decisions are not overlooked.

PSSP provides assistance and leadership to educators and schools regarding current education issues. The state can monitor compliance with special education law by looking at PSSP data.

The schools of Washtenaw County believe the move to PSSP has been a great step forward for all of our county’s children in need of individualized education plans.
