High Fidelity Wraparound

Wraparound is a strength-based, family centered, team approach to care planning designed to support youth with complex needs and their families and address underlying needs.  Our care coordinators are trained by the National Wraparound Implementation Center to implement the wraparound process with high fidelity.  Wraparound is reserved for students and families who have not had success with more traditional interventions.

In addition to partnering with families and teams to engage in the wraparound process, the WISD Bridge Team is also partnering with the National Wraparound Implementation Center to offer ongoing coaching and training opportunities for those interested in high fidelity wraparound.  While our calendar of coaching and training events is still in the process of being developed, please email Wraparound Supervisor Gina VanDuinen if interested in learning more.

For families with complex needs, getting help can be challenging. Often, families try multiple “roads” to find support that is helpful, only to discover that waitlists are long or that they don’t qualify for one reason or another. Sometimes, families gain access to a service but then find it isn’t a match for their needs.

What Is Wraparound? Wraparound is a structured way to organize services and supports for families and young people with complex needs. The work in Wraparound is led by a care coordinator and managed by a team of people that includes family members as well as people from different parts of a family’s life. This team is committed to creating and carrying out a plan that focuses on meeting the needs of the entire family, not just the young person referred.

The overall goal of Wraparound is to ensure that families realize their hopes and dreams, and experience success in their homes, communities, and schools. This intensive, creative team approach makes Wraparound unique.
