WISD Prom: A Night to Remember

This year's highly anticipated WISD Prom took place on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at High Point School. The dance floor was filled with energy as students celebrated the tradition. The theme, “White, Blue, and Glitter,” set the tone for a magical evening, bringing smiles and excitement to everyone in attendance. Each guest was welcomed onto the dance floor with a red carpet, complete with photography, cheers, and applause from the WISD staff who volunteered their time to make the night a special one. WISD’s Prom is an inclusive event, extending invitations to WISD young adult students ages 18-26 and their dates.

“Prom is a critical event for us to hold each year, especially if it’s a student’s first prom.  It can serve as a monumental social event for many students. Sometimes it's the most memorable young adult experience of their entire school year,” said Carol Gray, Young Adult Principal.

Making this event happen requires months of careful planning, with support from both current and past staff who volunteer to ensure everything goes smoothly. The goal is to create a fun, safe, and unforgettable experience for all involved.

Prom is a “no parents” event, allowing students to truly unwind and have fun. WISD staff are on hand to ensure that everyone enjoys themselves in a safe, supportive environment. With a vibrant dance floor, photo booth, DJ, and refreshments, the night is all about mingling, making new connections, seeing old friends, and creating lasting memories. At its core, WISD’s Prom is more than just a dance: it’s a symbol of what’s possible when our community comes together to create inclusive and accessible events for all individuals, regardless of background or ability.
