Trustees Elected to WISD Board
Veteran board trustees re-elected to the WISD Board of Education

Electors representing the nine public school districts cast their ballots to elect three board trustees at the Washtenaw Intermediate School District’s biennial board election on Monday, June 2, 2025.
Diane Hockett and Mary Jane Tramontin, both residents of Ann Arbor Public Schools, were re-elected for six-year terms. Dorcas Musili, resident of Ypsilanti Community Schools, was re-elected for a two-year term.
“We are thrilled to welcome back three experienced school board leaders to the Washtenaw ISD Board of Education,” shared WISD Superintendent Naomi Norman. “During a time of uncertainty and when state and federal education policies are rapidly changing, their re-election brings stability through their thoughtful leadership and depth of expertise.”
By law, the meeting to elect members of the Washtenaw ISD Board of Education must be conducted by the ISD on the first Monday in June every odd-numbered year. The body electing intermediate school district board members must be comprised of one representative of the board from each constituent district. Representatives are designated by their constituent boards. Constituent school districts of the WISD are Ann Arbor Public Schools, Chelsea School District, Dexter Community Schools, Lincoln Consolidated Schools, Manchester Community Schools, Milan Area Schools, Saline Area Schools, Whitmore Lake Public Schools, and Ypsilanti Community Schools.
To be eligible to serve on the WISD Board of Education, candidates must be at least 18 years old, a registered voter in the school district where they are a candidate, and a citizen of the United States.
Additionally, no more than two members of the WISD’s board may be from the same local school district. This year, three candidates residing within Ann Arbor Public Schools’ boundaries ran for two available board seats. Incumbents Diane Hockett and Mary Jane Tramontin are both retired educators with experience as board trustees for Ann Arbor Public Schools and Washtenaw ISD. Eric J. Roberts currently serves as a board member of the Michigan Center for Civic Education and has past school board experience as a trustee for Kenowa Hills Public Schools in Kent County, MI, from 2016-2022.
