WISD Named United Way Workplace DEI Champions of the Year

Workplace DEI Champions

United Way of Washtenaw County presented their annual Volunteer Appreciation Awards, which recognize the local business partners and volunteers who strive to improve the community by giving, advocating, volunteering, and promoting equity throughout Washtenaw County. These awards honored organizations who helped UWWC advance its vision—to create a more equitable Washtenaw County where your zip code no longer determines your opportunity in life.

Washtenaw Intermediate School District (WISD) was recognized as the Workplace DEI Champions of the Year! In addition to running a workplace campaign, Washtenaw ISD was recognized for challenging the norm and making change happen by immersing equity in their mission and vision statements, adopting equitable meeting norms, and engaging all of their team in social justice training.
